GC Accelerators (AWS)
What is it?

AWS has launched GC Accelerators, a series of tools and templates to optimize Amazon Web Services deployments in government. This project includes the AWS Secure Environment Accelerator (ASEA), a solution that makes it easy to create and operate secure, multi-account, multi-region AWS environments. ASEA enables rapid compliance with government digital standards and minimizes the time needed to meet security requirements by integrating best practices and automation into cloud configuration and management.

What problems does it solve?

GC Accelerators (AWS) significantly reduce the time and effort required to deploy secure, compliant environments on AWS, making it easier for government employees to quickly adapt and manage cloud solutions in compliance with government security regulations.

How does the tool work?

Automated Deployment: Streamlines the setup and deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications. Resource Management: Simplifies the management of AWS resources such as compute instances, storage, and networking. Scalability Support: Facilitates easy scaling of applications to handle varying loads. Integrated Security: Embeds security best practices for protecting applications and data. Monitoring and Analytics: Provides tools for monitoring application performance and user analytics. Cost Optimization: Helps in optimizing AWS costs through efficient resource utilization.

Open standards

Integrates AWS services: leverages EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others to enhance functionality. Utilizes infrastructure as code (IAC) to ensure consistent and repeatable cloud deployments. Adopts a microservices architecture to develop applications as independent service collections. Implements CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployments. Facilitates the use of Docker and Kubernetes for efficient container management. Complies with AWS security standards and best practices.
