Avni

Avni is a platform designed to assist nonprofit organizations and field workers in data collection, analysis, and project management. Its focus is on improving the delivery of community services in critical areas such as health, education, sanitation, water, waste, agriculture and social security. Initially launched in 2016 as Open CHS (Open Community Health System). Avni has expanded to offer a comprehensive solution that makes field work easier. It provides tools such as form design, visualization and data analysis, covering multiple sectors to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided.
Avni addresses the challenges community workers face in managing large populations and ensuring the quality and progress of their programs, offering a versatile platform for data collection and analysis across diverse social sectors.
Mobile Data Entry and Collection: Avni includes an Android app for field data entry, capable of working offline and syncing data when internet is available. Administrative Web Interface: A web app allows for configuration and setup of the Avni server, managing data imports/exports, and additional data entry. Reporting and Dashboard: Avni provides tools for generating custom reports and dashboards, viewable in a browser or exportable as PDFs. Hosted Cloud Service: Offers a central cloud instance for storing all data, with the option for local hosting. Offline Mode Operation: Ensures data collection and access even in areas without consistent internet connectivity​
Built with Python: utilizes the Django framework for efficient backend operations and React for dynamic user interfaces. Manages databases using Realm, optimizing data loading and synchronization, even in offline modes. Implements advanced data partitioning methods to deliver specific information to field workers based on criteria like location and shape type. Facilitates flexible configurations for field operations, enabling entity type management and customizable synchronization.
