Collaborative Standards Development
What is it?

Collaborative Standards Development is a platform designed for the co-creation of regulations and laws, allowing participants to contribute their perspectives and contribute to the improvement of legislative processes. Its purpose is to open and make these processes transparent to encourage citizen participation and enrich legislative proposals with diverse opinions. Aimed at entities such as congresses, parliaments and civil society organizations, this tool facilitates the publication of legislative texts to receive contributions that improve them. A notable example of its application is the Open Law Portal for the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina, the result of a collaboration between civil society and the public sector, focused on the needs of users and the continuous improvement of the legislative process.

What problems does it solve?

The problem this platform addresses is the lack of accessible and inclusive mechanisms for citizens to participate in the legislative process. Traditional legislative processes often lack transparency and are not designed to actively involve the public. Collaborative Rulemaking seeks to address this issue by providing a digital platform that allows for broader participation and input from diverse stakeholders in the development of laws and regulations.

How does the tool work?

Proposal Submission: Users can submit legislative proposals or amendments for review. Collaborative Review: Stakeholders can provide feedback, comments, and suggestions on proposed legislation. Public Debate: The platform facilitates public discussions and debates on legislative issues. Version Control: Tracks changes and revisions to legislative proposals. Voting and Consensus Building: Users can vote on proposals to gauge public support. Transparency: Provides access to the legislative process, documents, and discussions for increased transparency. Accessibility: Ensures that the platform is user-friendly and accessible to a wide audience.
