Curb Data Specification (CDS) is a digital tool that helps cities and businesses efficiently manage sidewalks and curbside areas. CDS provides a mechanism to define static and dynamic standards, measure sidewalk activity, and develop policies to make these spaces more accessible and useful. By providing accurate data and decision-making tools, CDS facilitates the implementation of dynamic zones that can adapt to the changing needs of urban areas, thereby improving the quality of public space.
CDS addresses the need to efficiently manage limited urban space, providing a system that helps cities optimize sidewalks and curbside zones to improve safety and functionality, thereby supporting a better quality of urban life and economic benefits for local businesses. .
**APIs and Endpoints**: Includes three main APIs - Curbs, Events, and Metrics - each with multiple endpoints for information flow management. **Modularity**: Offers flexibility, allowing regulatory agencies to use components that fit their needs, with optional endpoints and fields within each API. **MDS Overlap**: Aligns with the Mobility Data Specification (MDS) for consistent data usage across cities and transportation providers.
Based on semantic versioning with GIT tagging. Community-driven development led by OMF, providing documentation for version updates and policy guidance.
