The Digital Development Compass is an automated tool that extracts and processes unstructured public data sets to create a digital development foundation. Using GitHub Actions, transform this data into manageable formats such as CSV, facilitating analysis and visualizations that support the inclusive digital transformation promoted by UNDP. By ranking countries according to their digital readiness, this tool helps align digitalization efforts and policies, improving the efficiency of interventions and promoting equitable development based on accurate and up-to-date evidence.
Digital Development Compass addresses the difficulty of accessing and analyzing large volumes of unstructured data for digital transformation. It facilitates the identification, structuring and prioritization of digitalization efforts, allowing for more effective planning and execution of policies aligned with digital development needs.
Aggregates public international and local country datasets on digital transformation. Scores countries against stages of digital readiness. Processes data into CSV files for calculations and visualizations.
Developed primarily with Jupyter Notebook and TypeScript. Published under AGPL-3.0.
