Mifos
What is it?

Mifos is a microfinance software designed to offer affordable financial services. It targets markets and demographics usually excluded by the traditional banking sector, using technology to facilitate integration and operation. Developed to provide financial resources to people living in poverty, Mifos enables connections between loan providers and unbanked people, fostering economic opportunities and improvements in quality of life through access to financial services.

What problems does it solve?

Mifos reduces financial exclusion by offering a platform that connects marginalized people with financial service providers, facilitating access to essential economic resources to overcome poverty.

How does the tool work?

Technological Framework: The Mifos X Web App is a Single-Page Application (SPA) developed using HTML5, SCSS, TypeScript, Angular, and Angular Material. Access and Deployment: The latest app version is continuously available online at [Mifos X Web App](https://openmf.github.io/web-app/), updated whenever changes are merged into the master branch. Development Setup: To contribute to the app's development, prerequisites include `git`, `npm`, and `angular-cli`. The project involves cloning from GitHub, installing dependencies, and running a local server for preview. Docker Support: The app offers Docker and Docker Compose support, enabling easy build and run of the application in Docker containers. Contribution and Community: Open to contributions, the project encourages involvement in various forms like bug reporting, feature requests, code contributions, and documentation improvements, adhering to its contribution guidelines.

Open standards

Incorporates standard web technologies: it is written in HTML5, SCSS, and TypeScript, ensuring compatibility and ease of development. Leverages Angular for structured single-page application development. Uses Angular Material for design components, ensuring a modern and user-friendly interface. Supports Docker and Docker Compose, facilitating consistent deployment across different environments. Employs Travis CI for continuous integration, ensuring automated testing and stability.
