Participatory Budgets
What is it?

Participatory Budgets is an initiative that transforms citizen participation in the management of public resources. Through this platform, citizens can propose, debate and vote on projects for their community, promoting transparency and inclusion in the decision-making process. This platform, based on Democracy Network's DemocracyOS technology, facilitates the complete digitization of the Participatory Budgeting process. It has been successfully implemented in municipalities such as Vicente López and Rosario, allowing the presentation of citizen proposals, feasibility evaluation by the government, and voting on projects, with both online and in-person options.

What problems does it solve?

The problem that Participatory Budgeting addresses is the lack of accessible and understandable budget information for citizens. Budget documents are often complex and not readily available in a format that ordinary citizens can understand. This opacity can hinder citizen participation in the budget process and generate a lack of trust in the government's financial decisions. Participatory Budgeting seeks to solve this problem by making budget information transparent and accessible to the public.
