Recidiviz

Recidiviz Data Platform unites databases disconnected from the criminal justice system to create a standardized data layer. This new layer enhances data tools that streamline processes and improve support for incarcerated people and under community supervision. This platform was developed to provide real-time, actionable data to officials and communities, thereby improving the criminal justice system. We share these tools because we believe in collaboration and mutual learning with agency staff and people affected by the criminal justice system, addressing specific needs such as mental health or employment support.
Recidiviz Data Platform addresses the difficulty of managing and accessing dispersed data in the criminal justice system. It facilitates informed decision-making by providing a unified platform that offers real-time and standardized data, essential to improve support for people within the penal system.
Recidiviz's tool integrates disparate databases from the criminal justice system into a standardized data layer. This layer powers time-saving tools that help leaders identify support needs, such as mental health or employment, for incarcerated or paroled individuals, thereby improving decision-making.
The Recidiviz platform publishes its datasets in downloadable CSV files with open metadata, following the Open Definition guidelines. The tabular format allows spreadsheets, R, Python, or BigQuery to directly consume prison information, fostering transparency, reproducibility, and civic reuse in the justice sector.

Recidiviz unifies criminal justice data in real time to support decisions, connect services, and improve outcomes for supervised individuals.

The system generates an editable message to notify supervised individuals they are close to eligibility for phone check-ins.

The interface shows near-met eligibility criteria to shift a parolee to a compliant reporting level.
